The Dark Knight Review

Let me clear my throat as I evoke the sound energy of 1000 lions roaring, where the vocals bellow out of my lungs with intense exodus as a say WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!That was hands-down the best comic movie adaptation I've ever seen. This is Heath Ledger's Legacy. Now I am not about to say any spoilers in this movie. It has been a while since i was this excited about a movie. This movie had everything. It was gritty, brood and dark as if accurately extracted from the brains comic book creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger. The writers of this movie were spot on. However, as you have probably already heard Heath Ledger stole the freaking show. He gave the best and most accurate adaptation of the Joker I have ever seen. It was damn unbelievable that the was the same guy who played a gay cowboy. LOL! This movie had me yelling yehaw. There were spectacular performances all around, great story, and beautiful cinematography. And Heath was phenomenal. His passing is an incredible shame as his performances have been truly unique. But we will get back to the Joker in a minute.

Every major role in this movie was awesomely epic. It has been a while since you have seen so many actors in one movie give so much intensity and so much commitment to a project. Christian Bale has proven to be the best Batman I have seen period. He was charming yet stern and steadfast. Probably his best performance yet. He kept reminding you that he was in fact a human being, who has emotion, did not have super powers, and could be hurt. Similar to a reference from Wiki that reads, "Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime." Unlike a previous Batman depicted, that jumped from a plane from 20,000ft and landed on his feet ever so gently(circa 1997 " Batman & Robin"). HA!.

Aaron Eckhart gave a wondeful performance as Harvey Dent/Two Face. You are going to be astonished at his two performances. I am not going to say much but the makeup on him was SPOT ON!. His character was so dramtic and you felt so pulled in to him. It was unbelievable.

You also had Morgan Freeman(Lucious Fox), Gary Oldman(Commisioner Gordon), Maggie Gyllenhaal(Rachel Dawes), and Micheal Caine(Alfred) who all gave a unique and a phenomenal presence the entire film.

Even the damn Batmoble... I mean "The Tumbler" was awesome. That thing is beast. He also has this neat bat bike that just was just deadly. One thing that struck a cord with me, there was nearly no CGI present in the film. I mean every wreck and explosion was freaking real and amazing to view.

"Let's put a smile on that face!" Oh my god, the Joker. The anarchy he brings is so awesome. Heath Ledger has given his all in the character. There is never a dull moment. I really want to say so much more but many of you have not seen it. I mean it is a jaw dropping adaptation. It is such a pain to have lost such a wonderful person. This is his legacy. It is such a blessing to have seen him at his best. I wish more actors would bring this much of themselves into a role. That magic trick his does in this movie is hilarious and is exactly what you would expect from the joker. (You will know it when you see it.) Heath gives a legendary performance. He derserves an academy and oscar not because of sympathy for his death but just the impact of the role he took as The Joker.

I went to see this movie at a midnight showing, it lasted 2 1/2 hours, i didn't go to sleep until 3:45am knowing I had to be a work by 9am the following morning... and you know what? It was so worth it. If you miss this movie, you will be pretty upset that you didn't see it in the theater up close and personal for your viewing pleasure.

My rating system is pretty strict with a rating
scale from a 1 to 5 .

The is a Severe Thunderstorm Rating! This is a very rare. Hopefully not the last time it happens. You pretty much get the picture. GO SEE IT!

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

This sequel was very entertaing. Hellboy aka Red is a truly funny hero. Not this is no X-men or Hancock not even Wanted style movie. There is something the whole family, adults, teen, and kids could definitely enjoy. The is action and beautiful cinematography that is on par. For you ladies there is romance, for you guys there's action and Cuban cigars. The comedy keeps you smiling an chuckling throughout the film. The villain is a freaking badass with martial arts flaring and what a villian should be, IMO. He kind of looks like Tom Cruise if he was an elf with white hair and creepy eyes. Oh wait, that how Tom Cruise looks. Ha. Oh well. I recommend this to you all. I enjoyed it alot. Also, for you Family Guy lovers Seth McFarlene voices the German character Johann Krauss. It is awesome.

Synopsis:
With a signature blend of action, humor and character-based spectacle, the saga of the world's toughest, kitten-loving hero from Hell continues to unfold in "Hellboy II: The Golden Army." Hancock Review

Well as always, Will Smith returned for another July 4th "BlockBuster". Now, I was a bit skeptical for a movie about a bum superhero. The idea seems a bit far fetched. So, I gave in and purchased my tickets for this movie. To my amazement, I was right about this movie. Will Smith is a great actor but this movie was not up to par to the hype. The movie had an apparent big budget. Now, there was loads of action and hilarious Will Smith antics that was great. The jokes were quite funny, the action was pretty good. My problem is that the movie left a lot of questions unanswered. Quite clearly the plot wasn't thought out enough in the script stage before it went into production. The movie is all over the place as well. It is pretty hard to make a superhero movie that isn't based of a comic or character the audience has prior knowledge about. Also, this movie lacks that Will Smith charm and charisma because mainly of type of character he is playing. The movie was entertaining though. I just didn't walk out of the theater quoting lines or thinking about how he did this or how the plot thickened. I honestly walked out the movie thinking, "So when is The Dark Knight coming out?"

***SPOILER ALERT*****( Skip past red is you do not want to know.)
There is no real villian in this movie. A villian should be a mastermind, mad scientist, or slightly equally powerful foe. In this movie, the "villian" was a weird bank robber who was pissed he got caught by Hancock. Riiiighhhhttt....

Synopsis:
There are heroes... there are superheroes... and then there's Hancock (Will Smith). With great power comes great responsibility – everyone knows that – everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough – as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think – until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet – and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), insists that he's a lost cause.

Wanted 2008 Review

Well, let's start by reinforcing every review out there. This Movie is EPIC!!. It has everything. It has a balance of comedy, action, suspense, drama, and a visual excitement that is spot on and original. Now the movie eluded to the fact that we conform to what society expects us to be and not what we want to be. The movie has a strong atmosphere that pulls you into the violence and profanity unlike any other film out. (Note: it is based on a graphic comic book by Mark Millar) The moral of the movie is put simply you and only you have control over you life and the choices made. No can take that from you or force you into a life not worth living. You really walk out of the movie with a sense of understanding that "I am am master of my fate, I am the captiain of my soul." (Invictus by William Ernest Henley)

There was many references to pop-culture movies such as Office Space, The Matrix, Fight Club and much more. The movie may seem a bit vague in the beginning because you have no idea whats going on if you were like me, one who didn't follow the comic. Morgan Freeman shows a different side in this one, similar to his character in "Lucky Number Slevin"

Synopsis:
Based upon Mark Millar's explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov--creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series--Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody's transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice. In 2008, the world will be introduced to a hero for a new generation: Wesley Gibson.

25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut.

Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).

After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad's death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.

With wickedly brilliant tutors--including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman)--Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.
